Infant and Early Childhood
Mental Health Therapy

Infant and early childhood mental health therapists provide early intervention for children from birth to five years of age. A developmental assessment is used to evaluate each child’s individual strengths and needs to determine eligibility for services.

After an intake assessment, our team will provide a comprehensive evaluation for the child and family. Through a developmental assessment, we evaluate each child’s individual strengths and needs to determine eligibility for therapy and services. Then, our early intervention team will review the evaluation, work together, and decide which service the child is eligible for.

If a child is found eligible, our early intervention team will provide comprehensive services. All of these services are provided through office-based and home-visiting programs.

Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation

We provide infant and early childhood mental health consultation (IECMHC) services to our Early Care and Education Program and other preschools, daycare centers, and early childhood settings. If you require IECMHC service, please contact us!

There are three types of IECMHC, including programmatic consultation, classroom consultation, and child-/family- centered consultation. These three subtypes are not always clear when put into practice, as consultants may engage in two or all three types of consultation in order to meet the identified needs and goals.

Circle of Security™ Parenting

All parents wonder if they’re getting it right!

You’re not alone. Sometimes it’s hard to tell what your child needs, what her behaviors mean and if you’re doing right by him. Imagine what it might feel like if you could make sense of what your child is really asking from you.

At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

Circle of Security™ Parenting is an opportunity to join other parents just like you, for an 8-week class where you’ll learn to:

  • Strengthen your relationship with your child
  • Be present with your child during the best and toughest of times
  • Recognize your child’s needs and make sense of his or her behavior
  • Meet your child’s needs by being bigger, stronger, wiser and kind
  • Learning Objectives of the Training:
  • Understand your child’s emotional world by learning to read the emotional needs
  • Support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
  • Enhance the development of your child's self esteem
  • Honor your innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure

Parenting Program

Our professional, licensed infant and early childhood mental health therapists and infant-family specialists will facilitate parenting workshops around various themes. These workshops share information about the importance of promoting the early social and emotional development of young children with families.

The program also aims to promote families’ understanding of early social and emotional development by sharing child development information. This program supports parents by giving them an understanding of the family’s key role in shaping their child’s foundational learning about themselves, their emotions, and their way of interacting and relating to others.
